A 15 minute youtube "movie" has unsettled the very volatile Arab world. The US ambassador to Libya died; other US embassies in that region have been under siege, a KFC outlet has been burned. All because of the "movie."
So I watched it. Found it boring. Bogart the Explorer is more enjoyable and has a better production value than this youtube movie that launched a thousand attack. But I am no Muslim, hence not enraged. Or have these torch carrying muslims seen that horrible movie? Or are they enraged because others are? Oh, yeah there's mob rule. The i-dont-know-what's-happening-but-let's-join-the-crowd-anyway.
Come on.
Or we non-muslims have no fervent desire to fight for our God. I remember not long ago about an exhibit where the artist has "desecrated" our religious icon. They've put condom, penis doodads, mickey mouse images, and whatnot. There was an uproar, yes; but only from the zealots, from the chismosang manangs of the church, from the pedophile priests, from the rapist priests, and generally from the wolves in priest clothing. The rest went on with their lives. No museum was burned. Nobody got crucified this time.
Point is: The movie is so bad the unintended consequence has been disproportionately overblown of its value.
