Not a set-back

MDMA (3,4-Methylenedioxymethamphetamine) – colloquially known as ecstasy, often abbreviated as "E" or "X" – is an entactogenic drug of the phenethylamine and amphetamine class of drugs.
MDMA can induce euphoria, a sense of intimacy with others, and diminished anxiety. Many studies, particularly in the fields of psychology and cognitive therapy, have suggested that MDMA has therapeutic benefits and facilitates therapy sessions in certain individuals, a practice for which it had formally been used in the past. Clinical trials are now testing the therapeutic potential of MDMA for post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and anxiety associated with terminal cancer.
MDMA is criminalized in most countries under a United Nations (UN) agreement, and its possession, manufacture, or sale may result in criminal prosecution, although some limited exceptions exist for scientific and medical research. MDMA is one of the most widely used recreational drugs in the world and is taken in a variety of contexts far removed from its roots in psychotherapeutic settings. It is commonly associated with dance parties (or "raves") and electronic dance music. (read more from Wikipedia)

The Palace by the Pasig has mightily claimed that the acquittal of Brodett and Joseph was not a set-back in their drug campaign, or so spokeswoman/lawyer Valte claimed (read more...).

How can that NOT affect the country's fight against this menace? How can this not affect the morale of PDEA and their agents? How can this not affect the parents who can only pray that their children are not on the destructive path of addiction?

If anything, this has calcified the recalcitrant idea of the rich and powerful personalities who are into these stygian business. The Muntinlupa court was short of saying that yes, these meztizo looking boys are guilty, drugs were indeed seized from them. But hey, "the links in the chain of custody has been broken.

What link? What chain?

Given there were lapses, but would it be SUBSTANTIAL as to acquit the monsters? It is not as if the prosecution fail to prove the monster's guilt beyond reasonable doubt. It's the Muntinlupa court acquitting these young monsters because of mere technicality that is infuriating.

Yes, maybe there's a loophole in the statute, and it must be amended immediately. This should be prioritized by the legislature instead of conducting silly investigations.

But please, miss spokeswoman. Don't tell us that it has not affected anyone. Please, if you don't have anything substantial to say, just don't open your mouth.

Here's what happened 2 years ago. The links in the chain of custody of evidence might have been broken but not the links to paying and corrupting the justice system.
