Aawitan Kita

No, this is not directed particularly at anyone. "Aawitan Kita" is a kundiman made famous by Armida Siguion-Reyna. Yes, Tita Mids to the entertainment industry. She's one of the feisty ladies we have in this country -- she were not even cowered by Manoling Morato (another feisty lady-boy. LOL).

Just recently, I've discovered the joy of reading "The Daily Tribune." This paper is like "The Quibbler" of the wizarding world: they take and report stories differently from the major dailies. Different because they are adversarial to the administration. So it's like after reading the "fairy tale" stories from PDI and Philstar, DT knocks me back to reality.

Feisty Armida writes her own column in DT called "No holds barred." I like her style: direct and relevant. Most of the times she talk about the entertainment industry- its history, its happy days - but not about personalities in a chismosa kind of way: which is admirable and debunks my bias towards the people in her industry whom I thought would be mostly composed of superficial beings blinded by their own ego. It's been a while that she's writing a fair and balance commentary regarding the Revillame Saga. Today is especially funny as she commented on Cristy Fermin's supposed support statement for Papi.

Today she writes:
Divert.
A growing number believe Cristy Fermin’s televised “…dalawang lalaking personalidad lang ang parang pinapayagan ng publiko na maging ‘matulis.’ Si Rico J. Puno lang at saka si Willie. Pag sila ang nag deliver para bang malaking karangalan mo pag mabastos ka,” is a ploy, to take the heat of Revillame.
Try repeating the last sentence over and over again. “…malaking karangalan mo pag mabastos ka.” “…malaking karangalan mo pag mabastos ka.” “…malaking karangalan mo pag mabastos ka.” You get so angry at Fermin, you are distracted from what’s on hand.
