that BOX

That box. Waw, meron kaming limang imbakan ng elektronikong impormasyon, at gusto niyang i-restart yung 'that box'. Aling DB server kaya yun.

Minsan pag
may hiling yung isang project, sarkastiko kong sinasabing.. project X mode, turn on..

1) Are you there God? It's me Margaret - JudyBlume , 85 pahina. Nakakatawa, nakaktuwa.

2) Politically Correct Bedtime Stories - James Finn Garner, 40 pages. Habang binabasa ko to

Hahaha...

uzi, granda atbp.

As the nation was held hostage the whole day yesterday by a scene (?) from the nation's capital, local and international news media scrambled to cover the drama. Only in the Philippines.

Here are the things I observed/experienced:

1) I got the news from Inquirer.net, but CNN beat the local media by posting a clip on their site. How is that?

2) The hostaged children seemed to be oblivious of what was happening. I saw from the late night news how they waved and smiled. The hostage-taker did a good job at telling those helpless kids that there's no commotion going-on, while outside their realm, the drama and excitement was causing a lot of anxiety.

3) And was i surprised to see politicians of panoplyic colors try to invade the scene? Definitely not! Who would let a chance like this passed them by. Insufferable!

4) Oh, and after releasing the children, scenes from hospital showed more Filipinos smiling and waving on camera. There was no trace of trauma that could have suggested a humid day of life imitating telenovela. (I remembered my socio prof telling us that it is a unique(?) Filipino trait to smile and waved in front of the cameras even in dire situations).

5) That the hostage taker has a grand history of taking the limelight -- in public.

Armando Ducat Jr : Loony or Hero, 2 sides of the same coin

He palpably brought attention to our country's perennial problem of education, and implicitly the condition of the common tao. It also brought in an opportune time how government officials, both career and elected, mangled the kind of services they provide their constituents. Well, I won't blame a single administration for this hell that we are right now. Everyone contributed to the decay of our nation. And they cannot figure it out who to point their fingers on. Corruption has taken its roots deep into our national psyche. Weeding it out is up to us. We could rant about it until kingdom come or do something ... like voting wisely. LOL.. Going back to the topic. Mr. Ducat is a hero -- for the poor, the needy, and the loony.

On the other hand, MalacaƱang might have been fuming hot. With all the bad attention/publication they were getting, now came a hostage drama exposing how bad our education system. And how bad the security in Manila is to have a bus-full of school children getting hostaged. Headache for the country's spokesperson and apologists indeed. The feather of our country's elite has been ruffled once more. Cursing how 3rd world we are, and how bad it would look internationally.

What happened yesterday would surely be in the news for this week. And it added flavor to the rather dulling political/campaign season. And the week after next, nobody remembers. Not even the summer heat could have etched the lessons from this event. We are creatures that evolved to have short-term memory loss and short attention span.

SMILE - faker

I think I'm turning grumpy. For the life of me, I cannot even put a fake smile and pretend an iota of interest in anything an annoying person does. Well for one, the person is annoying. LOL.

But then, there are person who looks genuinely accomodating to any type of individuals. I just wished I could be as accomodating to at least smile whole heartedly. Because honestly of all the smiles there are available, I cannot fake a smile. I can do an in-love smile, a sarcastic smile, enigmatic smile, triumphant smile... but never a fake smile.

Here's my description of an annoying person :
1) Someone who imposes his religion, belief or idea. Imposition burns the bridge of debate and
discussion. We are in a democracy, we are free and it's guaranteed by Article 3 of our onstitution , and i would let no one imposes his beliefs on me.

2) Persons with a concrete history of frivolities, trivialities, and superficilities. Come on, who would not be irritated by a person whose constant concern is the 'IN' thing, the fashionable things. Anything superficial. And match it with the annoying CONIO accent... naknampu** .. LOL. Well, I do talk of trivial things once in a while , who does not?, It still is part of our daily lives, but it's not the ONLY part of our lives. Don't these type of people know the word HUNGRY, SUFFERING, LOST (evidence of grumpiness?).

3) Pretensious people of all kind. Those who have delusions of grandeur, who thinks they are the
reincarnated messiah, the geek goddess... I can tolerate-use-almost-patronize fake/pirated things, but not individuals.

I am praying hard so that I will be able to develop a high level of tolerance for such Homo sapiens. please.. please.. I can let them not ruin my day. I can let them not turn me into a grumpy monster.

May politically correct dancing ba?

If local shows are boring enough, then the barrage of cheap political ads leaves a bad taste if not totally ruining a perfect night. Ha, the imminent election has cursed this nation once again to the buffoonery that are the Filipino politicians. And if their political ad is the only criteria for voting, Manny Villar would be history. LOL. What the f***k was he dancing, or was he pretending to be a super hero about to fly?Kainis. I like Cayetano's ad, aside from the tasteful overall production (?), the theme and the song is catchy enough. However, i would still not vote for him. He has a too destructive a nature, big mouthed for a man. And that he will be part of the Cayetano dynasty if ever elected. I support the NO TO POLITICAL DYNASTY campaign so no to KOKOY too.

8 on 8

I came to work 30 mins late.
had bought a hashbrown, which I ate
heavy feeling, missing, and longing
this is the morning of our eight on this eight

~~~~~~
8 linya sa malayong pagsinta
matang sa pag sulyap ay salat
boses sa pagtawag sa iyo'y malat
taingang hindi makarinig sa malayong tinig
ilong na walang pang-amoy
dilang walang pang-lasa
mga brasong naghihintay ng kayakap
naghihintay lang
...maghihintay rin
matang matiyagang naghihintay
tinig ng boses na sabik
taingang handang makinig
ilong na lalanghap sa iyong halimuyak
dilang maglalaro -- ng salita
brasong yayakap ng mahigpit
pupunan ang mga oras na nalagas
pagsasaluhan ang pagsintang wagas
Pantasya sa qwerty ng Panagbenga
Panagbenga was 2 weeks ago, and still I have not yet posted the pictures that would have my friends drooling all over. For me the highlight was not the Panagbenga Festival but our Banaue-Sagada trip. Nice one, Another UNESCO World Heritage Site. LOL. Visiting all of our country's heritage site would be one of my life's goal.
I'll post my adventure when I get hold of those precious digital records. Tsk. I went all the way to LB to pick it up only to find out that I got the wrong CD. That's anti-climax; people have short attention span and a few more days, would not even care who the political whores who were clawing their way to Senate abominably!
I'll post my adventure plus pics as soon as MT&T sends me the correct copy.
Maybe my officemates are getting nostalgic. They seemed to miss Xerex. That's the only reason I could think of why 'this' is the latest office craze.
