Mr.Ratzinger has resigned. I was not even aware that "POPES" can do that, not after seeing JPII served up to the last strand of his strength. For whatever reason, it shows us how this institution is just as human as everything around us is. Ignorant as I am, I grow up looking at the papacy as almost next-to-god-thing, or at least that's how it was taught back in that Catholic school.
Not at all bad. removing its cloak of holiness would help us understand that they are fallible human creatures capable of being corrupted.
