Cybercrime & the Varsitarian

UST's varsitarian might as well be the first one to suffer the consequence of enacting RA 10175. It was confusing whether the rant was directed really at Ateneo/DLSU professor's pro-RH stand or the fact that they were unhappy with the recent basketball game result it seemed like Jarencio wrote the vomit worthy piece. Yeah, it was mean and uncalled for.

Whoever wrote that editorial just murdered the English language. He/She/It wanted to sound sophisticated by using highfalutin terms, and then forgetting the proper syntax in the process altogether. It wasn't even colloquial. And maybe the term "intellectual pretender(s) and interloper(s)" he/she/it wrote refers to him/her/it-self .

Yes we need a cybercrime law to punish a real cybercrime and the criminals behind it. RA 10175 could be that law save for certain provisions. I hope the SC would strike those abominable Sections-- they must.

Muslims

They were this intense since time immemorial. They have waged war for Allah. They won't let anyone mock Mohamad. They are so impassioned they won't let reason dictate their action. They would burn anything in their path. Because if violence is reason, which part of the human brain would let loose such brute attack on civilian lives and properties?

But this is not always the case. Filipino Muslims, although waging a protracted war for independence/recognition, are not as war freaks as their Indonesians or Middle East counterparts, so far as their reaction to "western infidels." I'm so relieved. We are so relieved that they're reaction to the 14 minute ho-hum video was to have a massive motorcade. (may or may not be true, the latest embassy warning might be related to a brewing plan related to that video)

So, is the violence part cultural? Have the pacific ocean cooled Fil-Muslims?! Whatever the reason is, it goes to show that Muslims can think of less bloody way to profess their devotion to their god and prophet. They can be less bloody and more democratic.

The circus has began. Expect a barrage of clowny propaganda, silly campaign songs (which might be predominantly to the tune of "call me maybe" or "gangnam style", or recycled "sha-la-la-la-la" or "macarena"). Epal tarps, relief goods with the politico's humongous faces you'll puke on it before you even cook them, ballers, etc. anything not res nullus that can be distributed will be distributed.

One thing. I'll not vote for any candidate who has an incumbent tatay, kuya, ate, tito in the Senate. C'mmon PH, give us options.
