Tito Sen's sins goes to Nuyohk

Let us share to the world the crappy elected officials running our government:

Quoted for NYTimes:

Two days later, news that Mr. Sotto had plagiarized his speech spilled across blogs, Twitter and Facebook. Careful readers proved that he’d copied and pasted, without citation, large portions from as many as at least five online sources. Among them were the writings of Sarah Pope, who blogs as “the Healthy Home Economist”; a New York University Web site on the notable birth-control advocate Margaret Sanger; and an American activist named Janice Formichella, writing for Feminists for Choice. What’s more, the senator twisted their words for his own purposes.
Mr. Sotto forcefully denied responsibility rather than confessing and offering an apology. When Ms. Pope blogged her dismay at being plagiarized, the senator declared on Filipino TV: “Why would I quote from a blogger? She’s just a blogger.” His chief of staff, Hector Villacorta, told reporters that blogs aren’t copyrighted, governments are exempt from copyright laws, and parliamentary immunity protects the senator. Besides, the Philippines “plagiarized the U.S. Constitution,” he said. “Even our image was copied from God. We are all plagiarists.”

You've been Holmes'd!

It's now Mr.Revilla's term to get Holmes'd:

I am not asking you to abandon a sinking ship – that of Sen Sotto’s future in politics. History shows how senators re-invent themselves as often as snakes molt. Even you, Sen Revilla did a volte-face when your best friend’s father was replaced by ex-President Arroyo.

All I am asking is that you put as much effort into the Senate as you do in your movies, worry about your constituents as much as your fans, accept that not all natural phenomena can be explained by your wives’ experience, and finally, seriously consider all the pros and cons regarding the passage of the RH bill.

Epaloids

I learned a new word, it's necropolitics. In a nutshell it meant squeezing everything out of the death of a person. Yung ume-epal sa burol ng taong namatay.

Really?! We know who you are.

Lady Justice is the Chief

She must have exclaimed TGIF!

So we have a new Chief Justice, who will be serving at the helm of Judiciary for 18 years. I hope she stays true to her convictions.

Robbed of Robredo

His demise feels like we were robbed again, of a good, honest, leader. The number of groups and individuals praying for his miraculous survival was just the tip of an iceberg.

He literally went into the abyss, then back-- lifeless. But a hero nevertheless.

We hope someone of your caliber, sincerity, devoid of epalness is still within our midst, in our generation. Your demise sir, creates another black-hole in our collective consciousness. Please pray with us so that God send someone like you.

I just hope, people would be honestly touched by your example and follow. Not just touched-cried-then-back-to-their-whore-selves.

Bourned

It seems to me that many Pinoys are watching this movie because part of it was shot here. Guess what, when the movie came to that point, a collective breathe of excitement was perceptible, not because everyone is enjoying what they are seeing, but because they are amazed at the Tagalog lines. As if not enough, they really have to ask, "anong sinabi." And then when islets appear, someone has to really shout that it was Coron. (double face palm).

It was not Damon's Bourne, but enjoyable nevertheless. I came not expecting anything since it's been receiving bad reviews from my siblings, and officemates. What the hell.

To me, the most disturbing point/fact was that live lethal virus are stored here in Manila. Really, in Manila where the population density is 42,858 per square kilometer.

431

On the contrary, the plane crash of flight 431 reinforces my belief that I will not be dying soon.

Here's a man who works quietly, yet effective in his endeavors. Nothing bombastic. He is the antithesis of a trapo. He is a Magsaysay awardee after all. And that is not an ad hominem nor non- sequitur. The outpouring support of prayers and the simplicity of their home shows us that there really are honest politicos out there, and despite all the prayers, the vigils, the countless statues of Mary and her permutation- he will not be coming back. As a disinterested person, I think he really is dead.

Again, we are deprived of a good person who honestly means service to his countrymen. And the fact that prayers are not getting him back is telling that first, prayers are not really a tool unlike genies lamp that grants our wishes; second, that accident do happen to everyone; and third, life is short for a good man.

Thus, we should not be to quick to attribute everything to the divine. Sorry, but to do so, and then imagine all the prayers and all the saints have already been called. Nothing. Frustrating.

To do otherwise, and accept things that ordinarily happens, life goes on, minus frustration, no need asking God why.

UPDATE:

I believe in God. It's just that I am not the type to leave everything to him that would make me appear to be a mere puppet. If ever he is alive, well and good. It would reinforce my beliefs but not necesarrily diminish it if he is indeed dead.

Here's the to hopefuls.

UPDATE#2:

The body has been found. Now what.

Malupit ang diyos? Not really. This happens everyday. It's just that the divine chose not to intervene and raised his body from the bottom of the sea alive. RIP, sir.

Citizen Kane

This is bad. I think I'm dying.

I went to a website that recommends good movies, and I am not even a movie buff. And no I am not one of those pseudo peeps trying to sound like movie buffs. Going back, I think I'm dying. And I want to thank torrents for making the last days of my life somewhat happy.

I've just finished Citizen Kane. Wow, they've scrutinize the life of the man, uncovered his flaws, floored by his philosophy all because of RoseBud.

The Story to me is a good example of making a mountain out of a mole hill. Mr.Kane was their Rupert Murdoch-- media mogul. His dying word was rosebud. And they've put so much interest to it. The problem with them is that they are trying to explain the man based on what they think of him.

It's what they think of the man.

In the end, they failed to figure out WHO is rosebud because rosebud is a what--- a sledge.

kabi-Sotto; kapatid ni Enteng

We make mistakes for a reason; sometimes deliberate, sometimes accidental. Nevertheless, we learned -- should learn from them. And when we do, we are reminded of our fallibility, that we are not as high and mighty as we think we are. Thus, committing them keeps our feet grounded.

So what happens if you think you are someone so mighty, and threatening others who don't necessarily share your views? Well, when you commit that mistake, everything will be thrown at you, yes including the kitchen sink.

Sotto, finally made an incredible mistake. And I think the strong public backlash was not unexpected. He was a strong supporter of Anti RHBill, nothing is wrong with that, right? What is wrong is he's one of the many who argues strongly without a solid basis. Like the Macho artista that he was, he just wanted to imposed on the general populace his views. And then he made that speech.

I think, for the first time, he backed up his anti stand with scientific data. He wanted to argue this time with a tinge medical authority, citing doctors, etc. But he was an actor, so he need that cry.

Lo and Behold, the great Senator was caught plagiarizing. Sadly, when confronted, the MachoSen's retort was something like 'why would he quote a mere blogger?' Today, he ate all this braggadocio. His staff has just admitted that they've plagiarize, oh not plagiarize-plagiarize, they just cited the same sources.

Kamown, what's wrong with you people. Either you apologize or don't apologize when you'll just make a nasty excuse. Excuse me sir, you just buried yourself deeper.

So now, the dogs are on your track, sniffing for more plagiarized work/speeches. You brought it on yourself, sir. Because you are arguing your side with snooty sideburns. Because you think you are the truth. Because you think it is your Christian duty. But alas, the people has just found out that your castle is built on a sand. The wind has changed direction, and I'm enjoying the sight of your castle being levelled down.

You are not better than anyone else. Yes sir, you are elected to a national position, but that doesn't make you any better than anyone of us.

anyare?

rats wrath

The only wrath we, city dwellers, will be suffering from would come from the city rats passed off in their feces & urine and mixed in the flood waters, VOILA - leptospirosis.

The previous post was written at the strike of midnight. There were floodings, yes, but not as I imagined as that widespread as it appeared on TV footage. There, I asked if "them hypocrites" would attribute the calamity to god's wrath. True enough, they did.

While those in the affected areas squandered about, those who are in a much safer place and internet connection to boot wondered loudly -- and concluded that this catastrophe is about god's wrath. Because we pushed through with the RH bill. Because we are such sinners. And to boost their self righteous ululations quoted the relevant biblical text re Noah's ark. Argh.

Seriously.

And they claim they are Christians of the highest order spewing biblical passages like they are the new-age prophets. Is it Christian to quote one part of the passage and omitting the other part; focusing on the message of destruction but leaving out the portion re hope and salvation. And yes, they claim to be Christians of the highest order.

By the way, in the same chapter, it was told that God would no longer obliterate terrestrial life by means of flood. So may be by some other means, so watch out you silly self-righteous hypocrites

ar-ets veal

When we, mere mortals, say his name, we sin. The holier-than-thou explains that as He commanded, we should not use His name in vain. And now it has lost its meaning meandering in the world of double standards. Apparently, they can use His name, in vain, and would not sin, as a matter of right? fact? or because they say so.

Fuck You hypocrites! (I know, that's uncalled for, but I'll say it again... fuck you bitches)

So, when the CBCP exclaimed "May God have mercy on our Congress" are they expecting floods and thunder to engulf the Batasan? Oh, by the way, there's a metro-wide flooding right now, is this the curse from their god?

Yesterday, when they called for intelligent debate or a semblance of it, Bagatsing thundered that voting should be done today (August 7) because 6 (August 6) is a number of the devil.

What the hell is wrong with him?

x--x--x

Again, debate is good. But please anchor your arguments on what's logical and palpable. Argue purely on the morals if you have to. But please, do not muddle the two; we are no longer in the friar era where you have control of what information the general population would have.

We are aware. We know.

NO to no-to-rh-bill

I have a feeling that the much needed (or so many of us think) RH Bill won't be passed. Why am I always on the non-winning side?!

Would the gods hear my prayer for a miracle if I'm praying for the passage of the law these church people are also praying to be thrown out of the garbage bin?

Is it really about prayer? politics?

flagella & spermatozoa

Dear Senator Sotto,

I don't understand you kasi. I cannot understand how someone who is in a position to help our country by passing a bill still refuses to do so. Like you and the RH Bill.

The Filipino people need the help of Senators who can see beyond their own needs, care more for the people they purport to care about than they do about losing the so-called Catholic vote, and realize that although all this interpellating and old-boy chuckling may increase their popularity in the Senate,it does nothing for the real people of the Philippines.

How do you do it, Senator? I mean, you enjoy/enjoyed 25-plus years of fertility with your wife, and you have only four children? Your wife is a beauty titlist and multi-awarded actress and singer, but I have read no research that says singers’ eggs and/or fallopian tubes help to exempt them from pregnancy.

We normal folk, if we don't use contraceptives, we get pregnant most of the time.

I mean, do their sperm also behave like yours? Heat-seeking missiles targeting Ms. Gamboa's eggs only when you wanted Romina, Diorella, Gian and Ciara? Ang suerte niyo namang mag-asawa: No unwanted children. No children born earlier than you wanted them.

Can you train the sperm of your countrymen – good, decent, God-fearing men who want to have children the way you do - all wanted, all spaced to ensure their and their mothers' best health, and yet not take the contraceptives of your choice?

If, indeed, you can do that - make all Filipinos' sperm as senatorial as yours so that each and every Filipino need not worry about another pregnancy when he makes love to his partner, then I will not begrudge your irrational stance against the RH Bill.

reigning on rains

I am a rain person. I rather be a basang sisiw soaked in rain than a sweaty gusgusin. I love it windy and grey. Yes, I am a rain person.

While I enjoy this kind of weather, the recent suspension of classes and offices is a bit worrying. Water rises so quickly and this is just monsoon rains. Imagine if NCR is hit directly by a typhoon? Okay, let's factor high tide, and the opening of dam and flood gates. But still, it worries me. Yes, it worries me and I am a rain person.
