A high school classmate is about to get married, and she doesn't want to send a word to everyone.
Wedding is a major event that everyone wants to be invited -- relatives, kapitbahays, kinder-friends, elementary-friends,high school friends, college friends, office mates, ad infinitum (times 2). Since the couple is working on a budget, they cannot just invite everyone. Problem arises on how and who to weed out from the guest-list.
Truth be told, I am not invited.
But I don't begrudge her because I would do the same if "I ever get to marry." Wedding is a solemn event, a major event that I would want to play over-and-over again in my head. I want to enjoy and share the joyous event with my real classmate friends, with my trustworthy friends, with my true relatives. Imagine someone congratulating you blankly, and then continued chomping at his food? I want to savor the moment with people who are genuinely happy for me.
