Whenever I am in Old Manila, I relish the novels of past - the old calles, tributaries, and pueblos of Noli and Fili. Hence, I find the nonsensical urges of pompous politicians on renaming places. Hell, they call South China Sea as West Philippine Sea! Now it is Edsa becoming Cory Avenue?! 

See, it's all to please the power that be. Sirs, where's is your sense of history?
