Thrilled by Trillanes

Not me.

Yesterday while waiting for the free lunch our office throws every end of the month, someone informed my officemate that Thrill-anes walked out of his hearing! It was nothing as far as I'm concerned, It's like one I'm used to just like most people are. We are so used to walkouts, rallies, shouting matches, and mud slinging for ours is a democratic country after all. Save for the question of how come he were able to walk out of that hearing and walk towards Ayala when there were guard who're supposed to maintain calm. As we were holed up in our office slaving away, URLs of abs-cbn, inquirer, and the philippine star were loading their updates. We're more excited with the free lunch after all.

After the free lunch, it hit us. The event was that serious after all, I thought he was just bored of his incarceration that he decided to stroll the business district. Silly me, Thrill-anes is man with a mission. So what's the mission you asked? Hmmm... he went to Manila Pen, there surrounded by Guingona the elder, and a bunch of Holy Priests, and of course the Magdalo die-hards. Gad, the good senator cannot deny that it was PREMEDITATED. Only minutes after his announcement, some group were already at the ayala triangle complete with banner and leaflets.

Funny that we thought we were discussing the merits of the event when another colleague pop the question, "Why is he fond of Hotels-- not just any Hotel but the upscale one?"
I was flabbergasted. Oo nga naman. And the same colleague asked why not motels?

It really was that serious that we were sent home early as other offices in makati were. Of course we're happy about that and even decided to go to Manila Pen to thank Thrill-anes personally. We did went that way but we were on the other side near Shangri-la and it really was a non event looking from that way. There were the usual uzis bu nothing spectacular - yet. Everyone just wants to go home.

While I too wanted to hitch a ride to Laguna, I cannot. The School haven't made an announcement yet, so I just decided to wait the announcement there. And what a good 30 minutes can make. Arriving at school, I met D then we decided to watch at the canteen when we passed at an office were people were already laughing at the screen.

Blow-by-Blow account, literally. Every action, every sound, those news anchors have to blurt as if the viewers cannot see, as if we cannot hear. This time, there were already SWAT in the area, there were tanks, gas masks, and high powered gun. So eto na, AKSYON na 'to! Donald Castro was commendable, he was a gadfly. Fear clearly is not in his blood at least as it appears on tv. He was not afraid to egged the officers to tell him the tactical details, HINDI SIYA MAKULIT, pramis HINDI.

I was praying for that SUSPENSION announcement. It never came.
And so, we heard from the latecomers that Thrill-anes will surrender soon. What they didn't tell us was that we later found out was that Manila Pen was tanked.

After class, we were informed of the curfew put by Malacanang. And somebody asked if Martial Law was declared. And I did't care. I just want to go home.

Horror. Incredible. That's how to describe the terminal! Suuuuper long LINE of passengers waiting for the bus to arrive. The line looped 5 times, imagine that! And it was raining, and we are looping in the puddle of mud for 4 hours, I was there, waiting for the bus. I called home to tell them that. And I'm fuming mad. My feet is throbbing. that is 3 nothches up from the regular pain of just wearing shoes for 12 hours. I was told that there was a HEAVY traffic in SLEX contributing to our misery that this traffic will also be a MISERY going to Laguna.

Siyet. Pucha. Leche. !@#$%^&*( ang sakit na ng paa ko. HUDAS!

There, in that tortuous line that i realized the desperation of this person Thrill-anes and his ilks. Them who have Messianic Complex, them who think they are not corrupt, never corrupt. OR SO THEY THOUGHT.

Siyet if they think that in one fell swoop they can change the ENTIRE NATION. Mga HANGAL pala SILA.
Corruption is ingrained in our culture. And yes that is the problem. Because the next generation of POLITICIANS won't let the previous POLITICIANS to bask in worldly glory of money and power. Platitude as it is, the only way to combat this culture of corruption is to start at home, while kids are young. In school where ideas are introduced and formed. NOT when they've already formed KALYO all over their body.

SO PLEASE, coup d` etat is very 1980's. SAWA na ko.

Funny thing, that this morning kaniya kaniya na namang tanggi ang mga NAGMAMALINIS na GRUPO... kaniya kaniya na namang TURUAN, kaniya kaniya na nman silang SISIHAN.

Thrill-anes surely is not thrilled by this turn of events. That in the end, learning that no one's behind him.

You Are a Warlock (or Witch)

You are deviously brilliant and a perfect manipulator. You somehow always end up getting what you want - without anyone knowing you're working behind the scenes.
Crafty and cunning, you can work your way out of any jam.And it's easy for you to get people to do what you want, whether you're working for good or evil.

Your greatest power: Mind control

Your greatest weakness: Making people your puppets

You play well with: Ghosts

Rainy day on a friday

I'm happier when it rains because the weather is cooler and the rain clouds are impervious to the sun's glare. Eating-Sleeping is the best activity, really. And if not for the obligation to come to work, I would have been dozing the day off.

Carnage

There is turmoil out there

Carnage! rambling!
What is to do but dig
Dig bones out of earth
Mudgraves! Timber!
Morbid trenches!

UPDATE:
4 died including Representative from Basilan, Wahib Akbar;
9 were reportedly injured which includes 2 Representatives.
The police authorities have zeroed in on Akbar as the likely target; And of course the familiar oppositionists didn't let an opportunity to blame all these to MalacaƱang.

As i shift sleepily on an almost empty bus for my routinary 52km ride to and fro from school/work, an old man interrupted my woolgathering to ask if the TV already flashed an update? I asked and made him repeat his question twice, and have answered No, that the bus was playing a B movie ever since it left the terminal. And then he cut me saying in an animated grandpa voice that Batasan Pambansa was bombed.

I was shocked, myriad thoughts entered my mind --- some good, most were bad. The very first thing I deed at home was to change the channel to ANC. And in full color while the camera focuses and zooms in on target, just like a scene from action/horror flick flashed in the screen: the collapsed lobby ceiling , a victim whose burnt face in close-up, a doctor in the emergency room giving a cpr and JDV making statements to whatever effect.

El Fili comes in to my mind. Blowing up the house where the Who's-Who of colonial Manila gathers for the wedding reception of Paulita and Juanito Pelaez (?). If not for the telenovela-mushy mentality of Isagani, who wanted to save his Paulita did the unthinkable then all those prayle's and meztizos, and peninsulares, would have been blown out into smithereens and into oblivion. Of course there will be those innocent casualties, but then again the end woul justify the means.... very Machivellian.

That, lingers. And yes at some point I was thinking batasan was bombed, hmm, no more de venecia, no more villanueva et al. No more grand standing politicians. The void will be filled by new breed of individuals who have genuine vision for this country to legislate bills that would move us forward. New breed of leaders that would unite this nation once and for all. And for all the innocent victims? Their number surely pales in comparison with the rest of the 87 Million Filipinos.

The problem with this theory is... What if those who'll assume power next is the same or even worst than the De Venecias of today?

the Karma, that was...

Today marks the start of another successive months of grueling secret-service duty. That means, heaps of secret-service reading material, sifting evidences, jacking up memory, defragmenting hard disk for every bit of spaces available and much more. The torture I believe is no different from those employed by Gitmo special operatives, but like those hardened terrorists, to shout for justice is to swim naked in the arctics -- it is futile. Oh well, I bring this upon myself so I cannot accuse nobody. I really have to thank God for helping me make it through those days of intense cross examination, that I really have to call HIS name in silence to evade being made to stand up and made like a statue for hours for not having known the facts of the cases and related rulings.

I enjoyed the furlough though, from day one up to the last minute. I was able to replenish and bring to stable condition my alcohol reserve which was sucked dry; slept 8 hours on weekdays and more on weekends; met with friends and got updated by the latest and juiciest chismis; have attended a really intimate wedding also of a friend, enjoyed my girlfriend without hearing the tic-tocs of my watch -- mall food, trinoma, market2, cinema, guada-escolta ferry, binondo/ongpin, and chinese food, spicy indian/persian food - the smell of kilikili.

I shall conquer the tasks ahead, just like the previous months. I have to.

"It's a feeling that brings on heart-pounding panic, even as you are pulling all the legal levers in court with simulated confidence and spinning a web of lies to the media outside."
- Paul Madriani, the Jury.

Past days-months have us endure a confluence of national drama, comedy, suspense and thriller. Investigations in aid of reelection, suicides from poverty, NBN-ZTE, Comelec, Glorietta, Cavite, Conviction, Pardon and the list can add some more.

Reminder to those who sold or is planning to sell their soul to the devil, the interest they seek is far greater than you imagined. The sad part is he's taking other people besides you. I guess that's what Karma is, while others lost their lives, he spare yours so that you'll be tortured by your prior acts and suffer for the rest of your life that you'll wish you've suffer a heart-attack and die.

the psychology of "hiya"

Many times we have done or have not done things because of hiya. Often we are barred from saying things or acting them because we deem it to be nakakahiya. The same way we cannot refuse requests because it would be nakakahiya not to grant it. Such is the dual characteristic of HIYA.

I am an extremely shy person or so I believe. I know it is irrational because there's nothing nakakahiya naman si ginawa ko. Maybe it's the thought of what others would think or of the violent reaction it would elicit. The introvert me have analyzed this irrational manifestations. And have came up with this realization, that yes HIYA without necesarrily acting shameful, despicable, or ignorantly blissful is irrational. And that HIYA can be a powerful tool to get what I want. heehee..

I have to come out of my shell and condition myself that there's nothing NAKAKAHIYA in what I -- have done, am doing, will do. And that I look normal and not clown-ish. All thos minifestations of an introverted creature. Now is the time to use the other character of HIYA. That is to get favorable result! tyahahaha.

Here's how it works:

CASE:
A is really hungry and has no money. He is with his friend B who arrived with burger meal B2 from Jollibee and is now munching on it happily.

SCENARIO 1:
A should restrain himself. Nakakhiya naman if he asked B for food, who might think he's dead-hungry or dirth-poor to buy a meal for himself.

SCENARIO 2:
A should humbly asked B to spare him some food and explain his situation.
Which could possibly have 2 reaction:
a) B would gladly share his food because not doing so is very UN-christian and nakakhiya
to be a damot friend.
b) B would feel offended by the begging of his friend and turn A down. Leave him to die of
hunger.
c) B would feel offended by the begging of his friend but spared him some food because not
doing so is very UN-christian and nakakhiya to be a damot friend.

HELD:
* A and C are the most likely answer, and HIYA figures prominently on both of them..

believe it or not.

You are The Hermit

Prudence, Caution, Deliberation.

The Hermit points to all things hidden, such as knowledge and inspiration, hidden enemies. The illumination is from within, and retirement from participation in current events.

The Hermit is a card of introspection, analysis and, well, virginity. You do not desire to socialize; the card indicates, instead, a desire for peace and solitude. You prefer to take the time to think, organize, ruminate, take stock. There may be feelings of frustration and discontent but these feelings eventually lead to enlightenment, illumination, clarity.

The Hermit represents a wise, inspirational person, friend, teacher, therapist. This a person who can shine a light on things that were previously mysterious and confusing.
