Muled

Yesterday, while this archipelagic country was all agog over the execution of 3 Pinoy-OFW-turned-drug-mules, I was working my neurons so hard I felt the dendrites falling numb and won't respond to the synapse-axon interactions. The parietal region was throbbing, the occipital completely numb. Regardless of these psychosomatic bodily invasion, I continued stuffing my gray matter with what probably are useless info. Poor neurons, they were enslaved to the hilt, and yet only 30% of what they have become numbed for were utilized.

But hey, these neurons were rewarded with tonic concoctions of Tanduay Ice and Alfonso. WOW. I missed alcohol.

And back to the drug mules; I wish our laws were as harsh as the Chinese made laws- and be enforced as efficiently as possible. Only then would the criminals and would-be criminals be jolted out of their senses to think as many times as possible before committing crimes.

I am for the reimposition of death penalty for committing heinous crimes.

Serene

I have never imagined I will be in this state of calm. A gentle smile on my balding head, and an environment filled with eternal sunshine of happiness. All thanks to the pills and tablets all 500mg my RN brother and self-medicating mother have prescribed so that a full blown flu would be averted. Well the cocktail of pills and tablets did just that - and now a serene surrounding.

PH's ceremonial president

Something that might have been an implied constitutional provision...
Ceremonial President BS Aquino III effortlessly doing his job

PH's de facto President

The Philippines' de facto president...
And I cannot find the Constitutional provision that provides for such, damn!

Fire Prevention Month

I just finished watching the latest episode of Glee, and I have a nagging suspicion that CBCP would be having a field day pontificating on this episode. This is the very antithesis of their antiquated teaching. CBCP is to Glee's Guidance Counsellor - wishing for celibacy, shunning the graphic details, and enshrouding the meaning of sex in hazy explanation replete with nonsensical and illogical remonstrations.

On the other hand, what We, the 90 Million Filipinos need more of, is Miss Holly Holiday. Someone who is in touch with reality, who knows what the problem is and how to address them head on without engaging in phony fallacies.

The problem is real and clear. The adults and the young adults of the strong and verile 90 Million Filipinos need to be informed!

Too, there's a fire in the Supreme Court. As the SC's spokesperson, Atty Midas Marquez shouldn't have issued statements that would further muddle issues. As the SC's spokesperson, he is expected by the public to give information that will clarify issues and not the otherway around. He has become an instrument of divisiveness. This I first noticed when he spoke about the Vizconde case months ago. The court have acquitted Webb, et al. and yet the Supreme Court mouthpiece blab that it does not mean that the acquitted parties were not guilty, the evidence wasn't just that strong. What the f*ck is wrong with him!!! If the accused are presumed innocent, what more if they are convicted??? So, I let it pass.

I believed Midas when he said the other day that there are forces out to smudge the Court's reputation, and now He's part of it. Yesterday, he was in different TV Stations giving interviews not to clean the court's image but to court more suspicions with the sitting justices no less. He is the Court's mouth piece for cheescake's sake. If he disagrees with any of them, he should have kept it to himself. And if what he believes is the true sequence of events, then by all means tell them to the Justices not on the media outfit who must be having a good time with all these free information.

I cannot help thinking that BS Aquino, the jester of a president's ineptitude is inffectious. The Executive department is inept, so is the Congress who's really like the middle child - always hungry for attention, and now the Judiciary.

And yes, March is Fire Prevention Month.

Moral Highground

The new book of Pope Benedict is out next week. It will be an interesting read because he will expound on the Jews, Jesus, and other mortal jargons. But more so, the Pope will be explaining why the Jews, collectively, are not to be blamed for the death of Jesus. While Anti-Semitism is foreign in this arc of the globe, I find the Pope's explanation to be relevant only because the same can be observed of the ruling Roman Catholic Church heirarchy. Case in point is the ongoing debate on the RH Bill. The CPCP has released a circular condemning the said Bill for reasons only medieval  society would appreciate. Medieval because they seem to peddle ideas already debunked by science, medieval because they threat their parishioners with excommunication. The least they can do is to proffer the public convincing reasons to join their cause. I was cringing 3 Sundays ago when the Catholic Church launch its massive misinformation- what with condoms have tiny holes in it that it would not effectively prevent pregnancy; or that AIDS are transmitted thru mosquito bites. I was booing the priest from my sit, and thankfully wasn't mugged by my seatmates.

While CBCP enjoys freedom of speech, and indeed, they have moral duty to protect life, CBCP cannot expect their flock to obey what they demand. We are not robots or automatons programmed to bid your antiquated reasonings.

These people are the modern day temple aristocracies. They are high on their chairs not knowing the real situation outside their palaces, or convents. Would these church aristocracies go to depressed communities and personally teach the unlettered mothers how to count days for ovulation; Could they imposed on the boorish fathers when to have sex with their wives? I kid not, but they are all too high and mighty for these menial tasks. They are too busy with other worldly things. But alas, the Pope has spoken. Church aristocracies have never left us, it is part of the vicious cycle. The church aristocracies now are the ones crucifying this country to poverty by allowing the multiplication of bastards, street urchins, and the like. Not to mention that they themselves father children despite their vows of celibacy. If this is not hypocrisy, then let's invent a new word for this.

Aptly, the aristocratic barangay officials of Ayala Alabang echoes the CBCP's ludicrous callousness by issuing  an edict of a wholesale ban on the sale of condoms.

In today's democracy, these officials are supposed to be representatives elected by their constituents. These officials cannot act on their whimsical idea of morality. And they cannot act secretly, because anomalous activities like these are a tweet away, exposing their vapid intellects to the world in minutes if not seconds. So there, the libertarian and the more sober residents of the gated community have blasted their own officials for not consulting with them. There must be really something about being at the helm that corrupts even the lowly barangay officials. What more if they have the color of moral guardians that is the CBCP?

Going back to the Pope and his book, this is what the Guardian.co.uk has to say:
"The pope has written a detailed and personal repudiation of the idea that the Jews were collectively responsible for the death of Jesus.

In a book to be published next week, he concludes that those responsible for the crucifixion were the "Temple aristocracy" and supporters of the rebel Barabbas."

I am a Catholic and I have a free will.

Coke = Happiness

Yesterday, I got a message from one of my college barkadas; she, too, is getting married this year. She's based is SG already, so I was surprised she texted. lo and behold - she's tying the knot! I felt a warm happy feeling engulfing my whole body. I'm happy because I know she's genuinely happy. Congratulations SDC!

Then I realised that I have now entered into another era where everybody is about to get married. Funny because the era of having children predates the era of wedding.

And then I asked myself, when is my turn? Maybe my happiness is in this truck...
